Artist Statement The emotional residue that can persist long after childhood.

Cycles of play, pursuit, consumption and escape.
I create carefully imagined worlds populated by recurring characters, symbolic objects and staged environments.
Through bright colours, playful forms and constructed scenes, I explore childhood and escapism, drawing on the imagery, behaviours and emotional residue that can persist long after childhood itself.
Recurring characters move through these environments in cycles of play, pursuit, consumption and escape, reflecting both imagined narratives and familiar patterns of behaviour.
While the work is rooted in the visual language of play, it is equally concerned with the tensions that exist beneath seemingly familiar surfaces.
Moments of ambiguity, disruption and quiet menace emerge and coexist within these worlds. By balancing the familiar with the unfamiliar, I create spaces that invite curiosity while resisting simple interpretation.
