Biography A London-based digital artist whose work explores childhood and escapism through carefully imagined worlds. 
Alongside her artistic practice, Simpson has illustrated children’s books and worked across a range of creative disciplines spanning fine art, design and illustration.

Born in Edinburgh in 1968, Simpson studied Fine Art (Sculpture) at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design. After graduating, she founded the independent fashion label Magoo, which sold throughout the UK and internationally.

A later Master’s degree in Design for Interactive Media sparked a lasting interest in digital technology and image-making, eventually leading her to develop the distinctive digital practice she works in today.

 

Alongside her artistic practice, Simpson has illustrated children’s books and worked across a range of creative disciplines spanning fine art, design and illustration.

 

Her work has been exhibited widely, including at the Royal Scottish Academy Annual Exhibition.
